The S - Series was selected from hundreds of entries to be honored with a 2011 EXC!TE Award, which is selected by CustomRetailer’s Editor-In-Chief and a staff of industry experts and seasoned writers. The winners will be honored at the 2011 CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis, IN.

The S - Series won over the international expert jury of the "red dot award: product design 2012" after an evaluation process lasting several days, securing thereby one of the most coveted awards. Creative heads and manufacturers from all over the world had submitted 4,515 designs altogether to the renowned product competition. Steinway Lyngdorf's S - Series inspired the experts, receiving the globally sought-after red dot for its refined design language in the entertainment technology and cameras product group.

On July 2, 2012, the presentation of the internationally renowned quality seal will take place at the red dot gala. That evening, more than 1,000 international guests from the design world, industry, society and the media will gather at the Aalto-Theater, the opera house in Essen, to celebrate this year's competition. For the following four weeks, the Steinway Lyngdorf S - Series will be on display in the red dot design museum.

Award-winning products in the red dot design museum
With more than 1,500 products on display in an area of more than 4,000 square metres, the red dot design museum accommodates the world's largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design. From July 3 to July 29, 2012, visitors are invited to look at the traditional, special exhibition of the award-winning products. In "Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2012", enthusiasts can admire the latest trends at close range. Touching is explicitly requested: Therefore, visitors can experience the prize-winning design of the S - Series system by Steinway Lyngdorf in the breath-taking atmosphere of the one-time coalmine boiler house of the Zeche Zollverein.

The red dot design award, which originated in the 1950s, is given in three disciplines: product design, communication design and design concept. In 2011 alone, more than 14,000 entries from over 70 countries were registered. The red dot award has established itself internationally as one of the most respected commendations for outstanding design.
