Time Domain Optimised
The keyword for all our drivers is that they are time domain optimized, meaning they are able to follow even the fastest transient in the audio signal with utmost precision.
Since magnitude is easy to compensate for with a combination of advanced DSP and room correction our philosophy is to optimize the precision of the drivers – i.e. optimize timing/attack. The Time Domain Optimized technology requires a lot of ingenuity since the means for achieving the results are different depending on the type of driver.
The keyword for the Steinway Lyngdorf woofers and mid-range drivers is always to use lightweight, hard cones. Thereby the driver is capable of reproducing a very wide frequency range without breakups in the cone. Furthermore, the drivers are extremely fast which is of utmost importance since nothing can compensate for a driver not moving according to the signal. It is impossible to make a slow, heavy driver move fast and accurate.
