True Bass Steering

Steinway Lyngdorf True Bass Steering

With proper level and time alignment, timbre and directivity, True Bass Steering bass management optimizes the handling of deep bass and thereby reintroducing the concept of bass management.

Bass management is commonly used to relieve small speakers of the task of delivering low frequency content as well as reproduction of the LFE content channel. True Bass Steering starts with the principal that all Steinway Lyngdorf systems contain at least two boundary woofers, a right and a left woofer, allowing the bass content to be routed with the correct location information.  When RoomPerfect™ is applied, all of the speakers are actually calibrated as full range speakers.  Similar to how one can steer the bass between the left and right front speakers in a well-tuned stereo system, True Bass Steering, can direct the bass seamlessly around the listener in a surround sound set-up.

Rather than the bass coming from one or more mono subwoofers, which results in non-directional bass that appears to be throughout the entire room, True Bass Steering will ensure that the bass comes from the location the sound engineer intended it to when the audio track was mixed. Offering an authentic experience instead of compromised audio playback.
